The first stop for most people should be our most visible attraction, Perry&#8217;s Victory and International Peace Memorial, affectionately referred to as the monument. This massive Doric column commemorating American, British and Canadian soldiers who fought in the <a href=\"https:\/\/putinbay.com\/putinbay-history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Battle of Lake Erie during the War of 1812<\/a>, is the fifth tallest memorial structure in America, and dominates the downtown Put-in-Bay landscape. The sightseeing from the observation deck is an essential part of a visit to Put-in-Bay.<\/p>\n<p>Then we have not one, but two caves that are can&#8217;t-miss. Perry&#8217;s Cave takes you five stories below the surface, where you can see an amazing and rare underground lake, connected by some as-of-yet undiscovered channel to the surrounding waters of Lake Erie. Perry&#8217;s Cave Family Fun Center is also home to the Butterfly House, home to hundreds of unique butterfly species, Fort Amaze&#8217;n and the Antique Car Museum.
